Expectations of the Family
Household – Belonging to the Family of God and the Britt David Family
Each member of the Family should be a part of the Family of God through repentance and faith culminating in a decision to receive Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior. This decision should be professed publicly and be followed by Believer’s Baptism by immersion. Being a part of His Household (Jesus is the Head of Household) enables us to become a part of this household. This should be followed with a genuine desire to share this life-changing message with others and increase the number included in the household.
Houseful – Maximizing the Potential of the Members and the Church
Each member of the Family should evidence an on-going pursuit of and progress in Christlikeness. As maturing disciples of Jesus Christ, we will continue to live by His grace, just as we were saved by His grace. Therefore we will participate actively and regularly in prayer, Bible study, and worship (corporately and privately). The Bible, our final authority in matters of faith and practice, will be the spiritual food on which we feast and function.
Housekeeping – Participating in the Community of Believers
Each member of the Family is a part of the Family, integral and important. Therefore, we will strive to foster an atmosphere of community, accountability, and intimacy. We will encourage a broad-range of relationships, but realize that significant relationships will be established and developed in small group settings.
Housework – Serving the Church and the World through the Love of Christ
Each member of His Family has been fully empowered and uniquely gifted by the Holy Spirit. Each member then must discover, develop, and deploy the spiritual gift(s) entrusted to him/her by God in order that the Body of Christ might be edified. Together we will seek to carry out the mission of Britt David Baptist Church by the supernatural power of God. And all that we do must be done with excellence, knowing that we are serving Him as we serve others.
House Payments – Managing Our Resources by Biblical Principles
Each member of the Family is expected to contribute to the ministry of the Church. In a spirit of generosity and cheerfulness, we will submit our resources to the Lordship of Christ, and we will exercise good stewardship over all He entrusts to us, including our time, talents, and treasures. We will give tithes and offerings according to the provision of God.
